Because many of us spend an average of 6.5 hours per day sitting, our hips tend to become very stiff and the muscles in the back of our hips, namely our glutes, tend to become fairly weak. As a result, we end up with increased stress on our lower back and knees as our bodies try to compensate. To avoid longer term pain and a reduced quality of life, it’s important that we pay particular attention to our hips.
